September 17, 2019
Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Richard Porter @ 7:00 p.m.
Pledge: The pledge was given by Supervisor Richard Porter.
Present: Roll call Randy Fisher, Scott Frederick, Shanna Pollman, Brenda Heisler, and Richard Porter.
Absent: None
Audience: Chief Lance Lohrke, Doug Pollman, Cindy Stanczak Director of the Albion District Library, Gary Tompkins 7th District County Commissioner, Leslie citizens Linda DeBryler and Linda Waller, and Calhoun County Judge Jason Bomia.
Approval of the Agenda: Was Amended to move Library Director Cindy Stanczak up on the agenda. A motion was made by Randy Fisher, 2nd by Scott Frederick to approve the amended agenda. The motion passed.
Minutes: A motion was made by Randy Fisher, 2nd by Scott Frederick to accept the minutes with corrections. The motion passed.
Bills: A motion was made by Scott Frederick, 2nd by Shanna Pollman to pay the bills. Roll call vote – Yes – Randy Fisher, Brenda Heisler, Richard Porter, Scott Frederick, and Shanna Pollman. The motion passed.
Treasurer’s Investment Report: Accepted as written by Randy Fisher, 2nd by Scott Frederick.
Correspondence: -Library Director Cindy Stanczak spoke on the activities for this weekend’s Festival of the Forks.
-September is the reunion of the Friends of The Library.
-Also is the continued “Book Read”.
-The library is now working on their budget and will be available there.
-Jason Bomia- the new appointed Judge introduced himself, he is a 20 year resident with a wife and kids, and was a lawyer for 20 years.
-County Commissioner Gary Tompkins – Went to the White House in Washington D.C. on October 3, 2019.
- On August 15, 2019 at the County Commissioners Board Meeting the subject of returning the roads back to gravel was brought up and was defeated.
-They are working on a 50/50 program and the date for this is to be later.
-There was no October 3, 2019 County Commissioners Meeting.
-Commissioner Tompkins spoke on Act 51 and how inept it is yet nothing else seems to be for the coming. We need something fair and equitable for all.
Planning Committee: Scott Frederick reported, the Public Hearing will be this Thursday. This is a correction from the Public Hearing last month due to the adjoining residents not being notified.
Fire Department: -See attached report.
-Chief Lance Lohrke reported that fire training was held on September 11th and 12th, 2019 covering initial response and scene set up.
-Chief Lohrke reported that on August 25, 2019 Sheridan Township Fire Department hosted 2 rescue classes.

New Business: A motion was made by Brenda Heisler, 2nd by Randy Fisher to pay the bill for Ken Powers to attend Building Classes, with a cover letter is being requested from Sheridan Township. Roll call vote – Yes – Randy Fisher, Scott Frederick, Richard Porter, Shanna Pollman, and Brenda Heisler. The motion passed.
-Richard Porter discussed the report from Ranger Power concerning a tax abatement that Ranger Power is requesting. Backham Sparks Sheridan Township Attorney Roxanne said that Ranger Power Solar does not qualify for the abatement.
-The fire truck was discussed – the chasse has to be ordered by November.
-The Public Hearing for Savion Solar will not be able to be scheduled by November.
Savion Solar has handed out “Good Neighbor Lease” to 11 Sheridan Township Residents with berms and tall trees.
-The GIS map was discussed, and a motion was made by Brenda Heisler, 2nd by Randy Fisher to pay the one time bill of $3,847.57. Roll call vote – Yes – Randy Fisher, Brenda Heisler, Shanna Pollman, Richard Porter, and Scott Frederick. The motion passed.
-The Zoning Report was given, and Dr. Davis is tearing down is house.
Adjourn: A motion was made to adjourn by Randy Fisher, 2nd by Scott Frederick @ 8:00 p.m. The motion passed.
