Sheridan Township Board of Trustees Meeting
SPECIAL
October 19, 2023
11:00 am
I. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Richard Porter at 11:00 am.
Pledge: The pledge was led by Rusty Smith.
II. Present: Rusty Smith, Stephanie Craig, Richard Porter, Scott Frederick, and
Hayley England
Absent: None
III. Approval of Agenda: A motion was made by Scott, 2nd by Rusty to accept the agenda as presented. All in favor, the motion passed.
IV. Public Comment: Rob Harris from Mercer makes a comment and goes over his background with Mercer.
V. New Business:
1. Receive report from building committee and approve bid for hiring contractor for Fire Station addition. Chief Lance Lohrke presents the committee’s recommendations for the fire station addition. Gordon Martin Builder is a local company and will be using local sub-contractors, so the committee is recommending Gordon Martin Builder. A motion was made by Rusty, 2nd by Scott to approve the committee’s recommendation to hire Gordon Martin Builder as the contractor for fire station addition. Roll Call Vote; all in favor. The motion passed.
2. Review local road agreements for 2024 and approve road work for local roads in 2024. A motion was made by Scott, 2nd by Rusty to accept the agreement for 27 1/2 Mile Road from H drive to J drive for 3" of asphalt. Roll Call Vote; Rusty yes, Dick yes, Scott yes, Hayley no, Stephanie yes. The motion passed.
VII. Adjourn: A motion was made by Stephanie, 2nd by Hayley to adjourn at 11:59. All in favor, the motion passed.
