November 20, 2018 Board Meeting Minutes

Sheridan Township Board of Trustee’s

November 20, 2018

Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Richard Porter @ 7:00 p.m.

Pledge: The pledge was given by Chief Lance Lohrke.

Present: Roll call Scott Frederick, Shanna Pollman, Brenda Heisler, and Richard Porter.

Absent: Ken Vogt.

Audience: Albion Public Library representative Carolyn Gilg, and Chief Lance Lohrke.

Approval of Agenda: A motion was made by Scott Frederick, 2nd by Shanna Pollman to approve the agenda as presented. The motion passed.

Minutes: Stand as written.

Bills: A motion was made by Scott Frederick, 2nd by Shanna Pollman to pay the bills. Roll call vote – Yes – Richard Porter, Brenda Heisler, Shanna Pollman, and Scott Frederick. The motion passed.

Treasurer’s Investment Report: Accepted as written.

Correspondence: -Consumers Energy is changing to LED and putting in 2 lights at C Drive and 28 Mile Road at a cost of $100.00 per light. A motion was made by Richard Porter, 2nd by Brenda Heisler to approve of the lights being installed. The motion passed.

-Another correspondence was in changing all street light s to LED at a cost for us at $18,000.00

Planning Committee: Scott Frederick said there was nothing to report.

Fire Department: -See attached report.

-Chief Lohrke said the training on October 7th & 8th was for forcible entry and hose management.

-October 7th – 7 firefighters were to join extraction training in Parma.

-October 27th – We had 2 firefighters attend a rail incident class also in Parma.

-See attached letter pertaining to Medical.

-We currently have 8 licensed Medical trained personnel with 4 more that have to test.

-A motion was made to move forward with this at the Chief’s discretion by Brenda Heisler, 2nd by Scott Frederick. The motion passed.

Public Comment: -Carolyn Gilg representing the Albion Public Library Board brought us up to date on the library issues.

-They also have a “Toys for Tots” at the library. -The library is updating the elevator. -The library is closed for Thanksgiving.

-Road Committee: -The Calhoun County Road Committee report was given by Supervisor Richard Porter, in County Commissioner Gary Tompkins absence. -A new Road Committee Manager has been chosen without the committee of Supervisors. -Bizon and NOf’s are assisting Commissioner Tompkins in getting a 4 way stop light on C Drive and 28 Mile Road.

New Business: -A motion was made with regret by Scott Frederick, 2nd by Shanna Pollman to accept the resignation of Trustee Ken Vogt. The motion passed. Supervisor Richard Porter submitted the name of Randy Fisher, a discussion followed and a motion was made by Brenda Heisler, 2nd by Scott Frederick to accept Mr. Fisher for Trustee. The motion passed.

-Fee Schedule –Strike “Notary Charge” (No Charge). A discussion followed and a motion was made by Scott Frederick, 2nd by Shanna Pollman to put $10.00 for “Request for Property Files by Property Owners.” The motion passed.

-Open Code Violations – See attached.

Adjourn: A motion was made to adjourn by Scott Frederick, 2nd by Shanna Pollman @ 7:55 p.m. The motion passed.
