Sheridan Township Board of Trustees Meeting
January 17, 2023
7:00 pm
I. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Richard Porter at 7:00 pm.
The pledge of allegiance to the Flag of the United States: Led by Richard Porter.
Present: Randy Fisher, Stephanie Craig, Richard Porter, Scott Frederick, and Hayley England.
Absent: None
II. Approval of Agenda: A motion was made by Randy, 2nd by Scott to accept the agenda as presented. All in favor, the motion passed.
III. Approval of previous township board minutes. A motion was made by Randy, 2nd by Scott to accept the November 15th minutes as presented. All in favor, the motion passed. A motion was made by Randy, 2nd by Scott to accept the December 5th special meeting minutes as presented. All in favor, the motion passed. A motion was made by Randy, 2nd by Scott to accept the December 7th special meeting minutes as presented. All in favor, the motion passed.
IV. Payment of Bills: A motion was made by Randy, 2nd by Scott to approve the payment of bills. Roll call vote; all in favor. The motion passed.
V. Treasurers Report: A motion was made by Randy, 2nd by Scott to approve the treasurers report as presented. All in favor, the motion passed.
VI. Correspondence: The Township is being contacted regarding Hydrogen plants that might be interested in coming in.
VII. Committee Reports:
1. Planning Commission/Roads - Scott Frederick. No planning meetings have been held in the last few months, so there are no updates right now. E Drive is brought up to the County Commissioner as a dangerous road due to its condition. J Drive is also mentioned due to the damage from the trucks that are putting in the new transmission line.
2. Fire - Chief Lance Lohrke. See the attached report for the calls in November and December. Chief Lance goes over the November and December calls. Training for November was Mass Casualty Incidents, and training for December was Inventory. We did not receive any of the grants that we applied for in 2022.
3. Zoning Enforcement - David Martin. There are no current reports, but Dave is working on quite a few projects right now. Richard updates everyone on his progress.

X. New Business:
1. Budget Amendments. A motion was made by Randy, 2nd by Scott to increase Shipsterns Engineering line item 101-272-801.734 by $2,000. Roll call vote; all in favor. The motion passed. A motion was made by Randy, 2nd by Scott to increase Shipsterns Legal line item 101-272-801.735 by $8,000. Roll call vote; all in favor. The motion passed. A motion was made by Randy, 2nd by Scott to increase Building Inspections line item 101-371-702.100 by $2,000. Roll call vote; all in favor. The motion passed. A motion was made by Randy, 2nd by Scott to increase Land Division - Wages line item 101-702-702.500 by $500. Roll call vote; all in favor. The motion passed.
2. Present Township Budget 2022-2023. The budget is included in the packet for review. We will hold a special meeting on February 14th to discuss the budget.
3. Vote on 2023 Park Millage allocation. The shuffleboard court needs a new roof. A motion was made by Randy, 2nd by Scott to approve the allocation of our Calhoun County parks and recreation allocation toward the roof replacement for the shuffleboard court in Albion. Roll call vote; all in favor. The motion passed.
4. Discuss MTA conference. Discussion went around about who would like to attend the MTA conference in April.
VII. Adjourn: A motion was made by Hayley, 2nd by Stephanie to adjourn at 7:50. All in favor, the motion passed.
